Practice Staff

Our Practice Manager is Alexia Tongue, supported by the Quality and Operations Manager, Managers Assistant, Nursing Team Manager, the Patient Services Team Leaders, Prescribing Team Leader, Operations Administrator, Clinical Administrator, Secretarial Team Leader and Contract Administrator.

We directly employ over 70 staff which includes the Patient Services Team, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Clinical Pharmacist and Healthy Minds Practitioner.

Nurse Practitioners

The Practice employs 6 Nurse Practitioners who are highly skilled senior nurses with advanced clinical skills. This allows them to carry out physical assessments and examinations, make a diagnosis, carry out treatment, prescribe medicines and refer patients for investigations.

Patients with a short term illness may see a Nurse Practitioner rather than a GP.

Illnesses will include:

  • Coughs and respiratory infectons
  • Earache
  • Urinary symptoms
  • Back pains and other musculoskeletal complaints
  • Constipation
  • Indigestion and heartburn
  • Emergency contraception

Your Nurse Practitioner will have constant access to your GP for advice and support. Where to Nurse Practitioner is unable to deal with a presenting problem, they will refer the patient immediately to a GP. GP’s will still be able to treat patients with complex health needs.

Practice Nurses

The Practice also employs a highly-skilled Nursing Team supported by our Health Care Assistants.

The team of 9 staff possess a wide range of skills and are able to undertake long term condition reviews such as hypertension and asthma checks. Treatment of minor injuries, contraception counselling, undertake smear tests and carry out vaccinations. Health Care Assistants are able to undertake dressings, remove sutures, and take blood and urine samples.

Clinical Pharmacist

Our Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for supporting our patients with their medication needs, queries and reviews.

Healthy Minds Practitioner

The Healthy Minds Practitioner sees our patient with low mood, depression and anxiety. Provides support and signposts to services best suited to meet the patient needs.
