Carers

Carers' support from Adult Social Services

A carer is someone who looks after and supports a friend, relative or neighbour who could not manage without their help. This could be due to age, physical or mental illness or disability. If you care for someone you are entitled to information and support for yourself.

Young Carers

Young carers help look after someone, usually a family member, with a long-term illness or disability. The Young Carers Service assess a family on an individual basis and offers one-to-one support, social activities, groups, advocacy and family support (such as signposting to relevant agencies).
