Child Nasal Flu Vaccinations

Abbey Medical Practice has identified you as a patient who requires the Child Nasal influenza vaccination. I ask that you take the time to read this correspondence as this year, more than ever, it is imperative you protect yourself and others in the local community. Please review the information available on www.nhs.uk/child-flu-vaccine

I am sure you can appreciate that the clinics in October and November will be slightly different than in previous years. These clinics will be available on Saturdays only at our Wellingborough surgery.  This year we are asking you to contact a member of our Patient Services Team on 01933 233215 or 01933 233219 between the hours of 9am and 2pm Monday to Friday.

We request the following of our patients when attending the Practice for their appointment:

• Do not attend the Practice if you have any COVID symptoms ie cough, fever, loss of smell. Please cancel your appointment and re book.
• Arrive 5 minutes before your appointment
• Ensure parents/guardians are wearing a mask to protect our staff and other patients
• Use the hand sanitiser provided
• Allow the Patient Services Team to take your temperature. If this is above the required range you will be asked not to attend your appointment
• Adhere to social distancing at all times. We will ask patients to leave the Practice if they are unable to do so.
• Comply with the signs on the floor directing the flow of patients to the clinical rooms

The above will enable the Practice to provide a safe and efficient service protecting both patients and staff.  As appointment times are longer than usual, due to the use of Personal Protective Equipment, it may well be that our clinicians are running slightly behind and we apologise in advance if this is the case. Everyone will be working hard to keep to appointment times.
