Gambling

East Midlands Gambling Harm Service

Many people take part in gambling of one form or another. For some, it can be an enjoyable activity. But other people find that gambling harms their physical and mental health, relationships and performance at work. It can leave them in serious debt too.

East Midlands Gambling Harms Service provide specialist therapies and treatment to people in the East Midlands affected by gambling addiction and gambling problems. They are an NHS team of mental health professionals. With the team they have “experts by experience” – people have recovered from a gambling addiction themselves.

Through group workshops and therapy sessions, they can help people to learn how to control the urge to gamble and adopt more realistic attitudes about the prospects of winning. Also give people tools to build an alternative, more meaningful lifestyle, free from gambling.
