Health Kiosk

What is the Health Kiosk?

Our new Health Kiosk enables our patients to provide the Practice with details of their health and wellbeing for Long Term Conditions.

Health Kiosk in the practice

Why does the Practice have a Health Kiosk?

We have purchased the Health Kiosk as it enables our patients with well controlled Long Term Conditions/Health Checks to provide us with information before being reviewed by a Clinician. In some cases, ie the recording of height and weight, it may not be necessary to see a clinician.

Once the information has been collated by the Health Kiosk, this is uploaded into our clinical system immediately. Our clinician is able to review your results immediately and it frees up more time in the consultation to provide you with advice, answer your questions and discuss any management plans. This will be a shorter consultation as the Health Kiosk asks you for a lot of information beforehand.

In using the kiosk we are able to free up more clinician time to see more patients.

With the challenges we are experiencing in recruiting GPs, we have had to embrace digital technology

Can I use the Health Kiosk at any time?

Unfortunately the use of the Health Kiosk is by appointment only. Patients will be invited to book an appointment to use the Health Kiosk dependant on when they are due a review.

The Health Kiosk is able to identify patients who are booked to use the machine and will not enable other Patients to input their details.

Where is the Health Kiosk located at the Practice?

The Health Kiosk is located in the small waiting room to the side of the main reception area on the ground floor. There is a sign on the door. Only you will attend the waiting room to use the Health Kiosk and only you are able to see the information displayed on the screen.

So, how does it work?

You will be invited to book an appointment with the Health Kiosk via an online message or telephone call. Your appointment with the clinician for your review will be booked shortly after.

Upon arrival at the reception desk, the Patient Services Team member will check you in. You will be handed a number (which enables patients to attend the Kiosk in order) and information relating to how to use the Health Kiosk (see below).

When you insert your details, the Health Kiosk will ask you to have your height, weight and blood pressure taken. You will then need to complete a short questionnaire dependant on the why you are seeing the clinician i.e. for Diabetes or Health Check.

The important thing is to press submit so your information is saved into your clinical record.
