Prescription Requests

It is your responsibility to ensure you have a sufficient supply of repeat medication. Please make sure you check your medicine supply regularly, especially when you are planning a holiday.

We accept repeat medication requests by post, in person or online.

When requesting via post or in person please use the computer printed repeat request slip (attached to your original green prescription) at alI times as this will enable your request to be processed within the displayed timescales. Tick only the medication you require on this white slip.

Do not order supplies more than 7 days in advance except in the case of holidays. Requests will not be processed early.

Requesting in Person

A prescription box is available in the Reception Areas to avoid the need to queue to drop of your prescription request. Above each box is a sign clearly displaying our processing timescales.

Requesting Via Post

If requesting by post, please include a stamped address envelope, unless the prescription is to be collected from the Practice.

Online Repeat Prescribing

Our online repeat medication requesting service enables you to your repeat medication 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and is especially useful when the surgery is closed or you cannot get to the surgery. If you have not already registered to use our online services please ask the receptionist for details either the next time you visit the surgery or by telephone. Each family member must have their own log-in ID and password.

Requesting via Chemist Collection Service

We no longer process repeat prescription requests received from the Chemists, unless arrangements have been agreed with the Practice.

Please order your medication via our online service, post or in person at the Practice.

We use the Electronic Prescribing Service which means that the prescriptions will be sent electronically to the Chemist within minutes of the Clinician approving.

We do not accept requests for repeat prescriptions over the telephone as the potential for errors is far too great.

Whichever method of requesting repeat prescriptions you use, your request will take 2 working days to be processed and may not be available to collect sooner.

Requests received on:
Monday will be ready for collection after 15.00 on Wednesday.
Tuesday will be ready for collection after 15.00 on Thursday.
Wednesday will be ready for collection after 15.00 on Friday (Monday for Earls Barton)
Thursday will be ready for collection after 15.00 on Monday.
Friday will be ready after 15.00 on Tuesday

Medication Reviews

We review patients who are taking repeat medication on a regular basis and you may receive a reminder about this when you collect your prescription or a telephone call from our Patient Services Team to book a routine appointment.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you wish to collect your prescription from our Earls Barton surgery, you MUST state this in the “medication request notes” box. If you do not do this, your prescription will be held at the Wellingborough surgery for collection.
