  • 4.1m appointments were delivered by General Practice in Northamptonshire  last year. That is more than 460,000 more than in 2019. That is an average of 17,000 per day
  • Over 118,500 are wasted as patients do not attend
  • General Practice in Northamptonshire continues to see patients face to face where is a clinical need alongside alternative appointments.  Last year 2.21m face to face appointments took place in General Practice alongside almost 2m telephone and online appointments
  • Around 3 out of every 5 appointments with a General Practice are offered the same day or next day in the county.
  • General Practice cares for some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.  During lockdown Practices in the county made sure more than 46,000 local people who needed to shield could continue accessing health care despite not being able to leave their homes
  • Since December 2020, General Practice in Northamptonshire have delivered more than 600,000 COVID vaccinations and continue to support the Booster campaign.  This is in addition to 195,000 flu vaccinations.

 

In a recent National Survey, General Practices in Northamptonshire received feedback from patients:

  • 82% rated their experience of their GP practices as good
  • 81% said they were satisfied with the appointment offered
  • 83% patients said they found the Receptionists very helpful
  • 95% patients said they had confidence and trust in the healthcare professional treating them
  • 93% of patients stated they felt their needs had been med during their appointment
  • 92% patients felt included in decisions about their care and treatment
  • 85% of surveyed patients with mental health needs felt their healthcare professional understood their needs
  • 72% of patients felt they had enough support to manage their long term conditions
