Flu Vaccinations Update

One year ago we had to place orders for the flu vaccinations for all of our eligible patients. We are expecting to take receipt of these vaccinations throughout September and have not been advised of any delays to the scheduled deliveries.

Our first Flu clinic will be held on Saturday 17th September 2022 08.00 – 12.30 with our staff and volunteers vaccinating in the region of 950 patients. Additional clinics are scheduled for the latter part of September and October.  Details will be confirmed early September as we will also be planning for the COVID boosters (once we receive confirmation of delivery dates).  We will update our website and contact patients as soon as we have received confirmation.

Our housebound patients will be contacted directly with details of visits by our  Nurse Practitioners.

This year the flu vaccine is being offered to:

  • all children aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2022
  • all primary school aged children (from reception to Year 6)
  • those aged 6 months to under 65 years in clinical risk groups
  • pregnant women
  • those aged 65 years and over
  • those in long-stay residential care homes
  • carers
  • frontline health care professionals
  • close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
  • those aged 50 years and over, who are healthy and not at risk will be invited after 15th October 2022

The clinic on Saturday 17th September 2022 will be invitation only via text or telephone call.  We request that patients utilise the online booking facility as this will avoid unnecessary waiting on the telephone.
The Flu telephone line 01933 233221 will take calls from from Thursday 1st September 10.00 – 15.00 daily until Friday 9th September 2022.  We apologise if the lines are busy as we do experience a high volume of calls at this time and recommend you use the new callback option.
